I finally finished reading “Reborn” by Susan Sontag, a collection of her diaries and journals from 1947 - 1963.
What can I say, it was an intense journey.
A thousand emotions, reflections, and unanswered questions created an intriguing and tense reading experience.
We are spectators of Sontag's inner world from the age of 14 to 30.
I saw myself a lot in her thoughts, in the contrasting emotions she felt, as she navigated the challenges of love and life and sought to understand her own actions and disappointments.
Quite a journey, as you can imagine.
That's why I took my time with it, spending a couple of months reading it off and on while tackling other books as well.
But more than anything, at a certain point, I began to write down and save all the quotes that spoke to me, dividing them into different themes, and today's article is nothing more than a tribute to Susan Sontag’s inner world, in her own words.
