It’s that time of the month again…and, as per usual, this post is too long for email, so check it out on the app.
Enjoy!
Books
September has been a restless month.
As it came, it went. But, its passage brought turmoil, sadness, doubts, and ultimately rebirth.
Given its impact on my psyche and my mental and physical energy, I have read very little and the little I have read I have savored in sips, or in one go.
I have read 4 books and finished 3, of which two were short stories and one a collection of poems. I read these in one go since they were very short but no less powerful than a 500-page book.
I have not yet finished Susan Sontag's collection of journal entries, which I am slowly savoring and loving.
She is making me want to start journaling again and try to do it following her approach.
Of the three I have read none has completely excelled, but if I really have to choose a favorite of the month, my vote goes to Terrific Mother by Lorrie Moore.
